Chopping An AVI or MPEG In Two

Can anyone tell me how to divide a video file (any format as I can always convert) into two or more portions so that I can fit them onto the appropriate number of CDs?

Sonic:confused:

Both VCDCutter and MPEG sissors do NOT cut VCD files correctly, regardless of their claims.

TMPGEnc can cut MPG or VCD files no problems and does it correctly. Have a read of the DVD to VCD tutorial in tutorial section on how to use it.

bbmpeg seems to work very well and is a little
faster and more simple to use.....TMPGEnc is the best tho
IMO.....:D

VirtualDUB is the best to cut AVI's. Load in, mark out the bit you DONT want and save AVI, then repeat for other half.

Or better still, try chopping off part of the trailing credits and it will then fit to an 80min CDR.

that link leads to a 404 bertieg mate heres a working link for avi chop incase anyone wants it :)

kieofwoo, make sure you have Direct steam copy selected under the audio & video for virtualdub (also under audio dont' select no audio or wav audio *should be avi or something like that)

Splitting AVIs

IMHO the best guide is Doom's one. Nandub is the preferred tool.

I found out that cuttind SVCD with TMPgEnc 2.58 produce
files that are not recognized by Nero 5.5.9.9 as compatible
format. On the other hand, cutting with TMPgEnc 2.56 works fine!
