Cdroms checks on boot

Why win98se allways checks my cdrom-drives on windowsload?
This takes a lot of time. Can i disable it? It does not with XP.

Maybe is some IDE busmaster driver in conflict or else.

You can disable checking the floppy so maybe.

I think that is in SYSTEM menu. Details of DRIVES/drivers.
