Its part of the "Pawn Hearts" album actually, Poko. (I made myself a T-shirt of the wonderful cover !) But I'll bow to your 22 minutes assessment as I'm not fully sure myself. ("H to He who am the only one" is a fantastic album too - as is "Godbluff") Delighted that you are such a connoisseur of good music !pokopiko said:My version of the song is 22 minutes (vinyl), and definitely putting all progressive rock jerks (Pink Floyd at the post-Syd Barrett era included) into eternal shame. It's part of the H to He (who am the only one) Van Der Graaf Generator album
OK for the front covers poko but what about the tray inlay m8?pokopiko said:
Maybe, Laz. But compared to 95% of todays (c)rap, I think a high percentage of the stuff of the 70's not only stands up well, but completely overtakes in ability and quality. Otherwise why are so many of the bands from that period still selling out wherever they play. The profits of U.S. tours of pensioner bands like Pink Floyd, The Who and of course the Stones are phenomenal. They get MILLIONS and TENS of millions PROFIT. Can you imagine the foul mouthed crunchy candy coated Eminem doing that TEN years down the line, never mind THIRTY ?Laz said:And Phil, you are showing your age now m8.![]()

Too true ! Knowing some of them and shamefully both my kids, are among them, seem to base their entire musical knowledge around rap and pop idols admittedly my son is a little better and my daughter likes Queen, and in the case of BOTh, they are teens, but NEITHER would take my advice on what is good. They would rather take the advice of the neurollogically-challenged Radio 1 d.j.'s. And that is a crime as far as I'm concerned. I always thought that if Oasis had been around in the early 70's say, they would have probably still made it, but not on the scale they have now. Its the dearth of quality - or rather the lack of any definite outlet for the quality which I believe is still there but gets no chance to show how good they truly are. If you dont sound like Oasis or Westlife they cant see money coming out your ears so aren't interested. The odd quality band does come through, Nirvana for example, or Spocks Beard (who, while good, are a straight rip-off of GENTLE GIANT from the early 70's)Laz said:One of the sadest aspects of living in the UK right now for me right now is the general attention, public & media, to TV progs that are utter cr@p like popstars & co. What is wrong with these people? Have they no ears or brain between those ears?<Rant Over>
