my system crashed so i had to reinstall my win 98se and also installed my ati tv wonder card driver but for some reason vdub can't detect the driver. how can i fixt it?

I assume all was well before you had to re-install Win98 ?
Are there later drivers or updates for your ATI that you may have installed before and not this time.?
When in main VD screen, before going into Capture mode, click on Video tab, select Commpression. Are any of the ATI drivers now seen?

before my system crashed, everything was okay. i didn't download any ati driver updates. after re-install. no drivers detected. i followed your advice, i don't see any ati drivers when i clicked on main vdub and video compression. only codecs like:

Indeo
Microsoft Video 3.2
Microsoft 261 codec
Microsoft 263 codec
Microsoft RLE
Microsoft Video 1
VDonet VDOWave.
These are exactly what i have. Pls. tell me how to fix it. If i can't fix it, i'm thinking of bringing it back to Future Shop where they did an excellent job when i had it fixed the first time .thnx.

Arr... sounds like the shop fix of your first problem probably did it by installing some later software, etc. Either take back to shop & get them to fix but ask what did they do to fix it. Or try the ATI site for later drivers.

reinstalled ati drivers from cd. tried vdub again but says "cannot connect to desired drivers", "trying to connect to driver " something like that. tried ulead dvd movie factory to capture and it works. anyway, there's progress. i have avi_io but it's only a demo version. got any crack or s/n for this?

hi chickenman. i used to be batmasterson and dragonball. anyways, i solved my own problem. uninstalled my programs in drive e and reformatted and reinstalled win 98se in drive c using the hp recovery cd. installed back my ati cd and huffyuv codec and everything is working fine now.
Good to hear it all worked out in the end, funny how Format C: (or E: ) fixes many of Microsofts bad installs.
