Can you convert avi to dvd using D2SRoba?

hi guys

i wanted to ask whether you can use D2Sroba to convert avi to DVD? or is that only used to dvd to dvd?

You sure can, do it all the time. The reason I havent updated the Tutorial is that the author of DVD2SVCD was about to upgrade it to allow AC-3 conversion, I'm still waiting though. But I understand his "day job" has tied him up somewhat of late.

Read the DVD to DVDR Tutorial on how to actually use it. It also works in Batch mode as well.

just as an aside CM I dont suppose d2robba can be made to do mpg?

D2SRoBa will only do what ever DVD2SVCD is doing, it just takes over the encoding part, thats all. However, you can get DVD2SVCD to process MPEG2 (SVCD) files, but not MPEG1 (VCD) files.

@RUGRAT convert the mpeg to mpeg 2 with tmpgenc or tmpgenc express

I find I get better (and quicker) results using MainConcept to convert my VCD (MPEG1) files to DVD compliant mpeg2 files than TMPGEnc. Save out as elementry streams and audio to WAV, convert the wav to AC3 and author in whatever you use.

Arr... its all the the Tutorial section. But I personally use Sonics AC3Enc or ffMPEGGui if I'm in a hurry

yes I am now using fMPEGGui .I tied the one for the dvd author but alas no joy although I have the Right TSP file in the programm folder it still does not show me as having the ac3 installed under the encode tab in the player..

I have the same problem with TMPGEnc DVD Author, however, DVDLab Pro sees the plug in and allows it do some conversions. It can also be used as a stand alone converter, again see the Audio to AC3 Tutorial on how to use it.

Plugin works fine here with both TMPGEnc express and TMPGEnc DVD Author.
