Can i copy movies with this dvd burner ?plz help

hi im thinking of purchasing this dvd burner http://www.strathfield.com/Product.asp?ProdID=621 but will i simply be able to just buy blank dvds and use nero to copy movies straight from the video shop because one of my friends said you couldn't or it wouldn't work for some reason. im worried that if i buy this dvd burner i wont be able to do anything with it the main reason i wanna buy it is so i can copy dvd movies or ps2 games
