What the ____ is C++ anyway? I'm under the impression that its a third party runtime program. I'm attempting to run a program and I get a runtime error with C++. And the program abnormaly shutsdown. What can I do to fix it? Was the C++ program origionally installed from my Win98SE installation? Or was it installed from another program? Is there anyway I can get the C++ program from somewere? I'm in way over my head here. Any help is appreciated.

hi pal,most progs running on windoz are written in C++ or visual C++....
did u installed ms visual studio ?
Ur situation may arise becoz ur prog is crashing & is thus throwing C++ runtime errors....wat proggie is it?

It's the World Builder program that came with the Command & conquer Generals PC game. Everytime I try to open it it says Runtime C++ error Abnormal program shutdown. Is C++ something that I can get an update for? Can I re-install it? Any suggestions? I've already uninstalled Command & Conquer Generals and re-installed it and I've re-installed my DirectX 8.1 that came with the game. I'm running Win98SE and have re-installed Win98SE ontop of itself. I'm not sure what else to do. It's not like I NEED to use the program, I just want to. Thanks again

errr zats becoz ur proggie crashed...
C++ is not something u can get an update...C++ is the programming language in which ur proggie was written...unless u r a programmer & can access to ur proggie source code,then u can start looking 4 bugs & correcting ur problem..
moreover,i don't find it a good thing 2 install win98se again on win98se...better make a clean & neat installation...i know this maybe a pain in the ass 2 reinstall everything,but then u'll be prone 2 get less errors...
try 2 run the proggie on another pc or another os...;)

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I was trying not to do a clean install on the Win98SE. It's a big pain in the Arse!
