burnning at x40

hi
i have a CDR that can burn a 16,32.40,48 but when i burn a cd 'it takes 6 min no matter which speed i pick. how can i burn faster ?

use quality cdr thats rated specifically for the speed you wish to burn at make sure u are not running any anti virus or screensavers , firewalls etc etc and try defragging before you image and burn the image file created ! also a note here is that if you have BURN PROOF enabled this can also affect the burntime as it compensates speed by changing the burn speeds with data flow to the burner ! also another consideration here is what you are burning as audio and data can take different amounts of time as can the differences between software used to burn with ! :) hope this helps ! :)

Hells bells where is the fire?

Six minutes!

Sorry, only joking but when I started burning, copying an audio CD took real time, one speed, if the CD was 65 minutes long then that was the time it took to copy it.

I have moved on from there and got up to 12 speed but hey? six minutes?

I better take a nap, things have got too fast for me!

Happy New Year everyone.

I use 700MB cd and i copy a avi files, so it is only 1 file.
how mach sould it take to brun at
24?
32?
40?
Once again its down to your Burner, burning software media being used copy from hard drive or on the fly your pc set up including o/s.

Look my 98SE set up with no other program running in background other then the burning program.
To intenso 80 media usin Lite-on 40x which at one stage tweak to 48x now gone back to 40x (don't need 48x) with 700Mb data on harddrive took 2min 45 sec...Using CDMATE.
No errors to.:D sorry speed set to max.
