burning wit nero/problem

whats up peeps...
i wanna know why does nero burn my dvds at 2.4x times!!!
instead of 4x??
my dvd discs are 4x ....so is my liteon dvd burner, whats wrong?

something in the settings/pref?

i think i saw a topic on this b4, but couldnt find it..so can anyone help??

Try a program like DVD Identifier and tell us who makes your media. I'll bet its junk media and Nero came up with 2.4 as being the best speed to burn at.

Could be media codes unknown to the drive, like "Media ID 001", "IS01 001" and others.

Bulkpaq (Bulkcrap) media, is it?

Some "unknown" media can be patched into the firmware - it's tricky, but it can be done - but then, the next step is to find one of the known media codes in the drive that works ok with it, and NOT one for media you already use or will use as it would upset the performance on that media.

Come back with the drive name, firmware version, media brand and type, media id, and dye colour - (when guessing a suitable code swap, the colour helps ... IS01 001 dye looks very much like the Prodisc colour, and a Prodisc code swap works quite well)
