Its the ATIP on the CDRW that is limiting your burn. ATIP is what identifies what kind of media you are using and its speed rating. You see Nero is seeing it as a 4x CDRW (which is correct) and it's preventing you from burning any faster.
Is there a way? Yes, but I would not recommend it!!! You see your CDRW is 4x for a reason, that's its fastest rated speed. If you go to 10x you really need "high speed" CDRW. If you try your
Are you sure?
My recollection is that the DRIVE absolutely enforces CD-RW speeds, with no chance of overriding - unlike CD-R speeds ahach are often "agreed" between the software and the drive by things like "Smart-burn" which can be disabled.
The process of CD-R is based on absolute laser power exposure, with limits of usabilty on the time/power tradeoff.
The process of CD-RW is more dynamic, based on either shock cooling (amorphous state) or progressive cooling (crystalline state) and timing is critical.
Faster media - 4-10x - is often described as having a thinner active layer, to make it faster.
4x-10x and 4x-12x DO seem to be somewhat interchangeable though.
