Well ive gone back to 0.99b already, this is a step backwards from my piont of view.
With my A06 this proggie was faultless, now i couldnt use it without proDVD etc.
0.99b is hassle free, just install + burn !!!

Agreed, sorry but IMHO the new version is a backwards step and dare I say it ..... the prog has missed the target.

Everything is steering towards all things DVD-Video these days while BAO has just decided to take a bold step and steer well away. Yes I know about ProDVD and indeed how it works but this IMO is not how software should be. It should work out of the box and work well, the one area that BAO was sooo damn good in with it's fantastic uncluttered Gui in the past. Pefect for old pros and newbies alike, compare the BAO Gui to the laughable mess that is the Nero Gui, no contest! (Sorry Nero fans but that is true no matter how good the prog may be. :D ) 0.99b was superb, why it even created the VIDEO/AUDIO_TS folders for you too! So OK the Gui is still there but alas no inbuilt DVD Video mastering, no other freeware prog has this and BAO stood out as the only one, even if it only worked on Pioneer drives. Surely the plan should have been to get over the prodvd obstacle and make the prog compatible with most DVDRW drives, seems logical to me.

I don't want to sound negative but I just do not understand what has gone on here, the prog has gone backwards ?!?

Another fan who has reverted back to 0.99b within minutes.

Fine, now I expect from Laz a tutorial on how to burn a DVD+R with its beloved 0.99b and dvdrecord...
Of course pro-DVD is the real business instead of that silly cdrecord Pioneer hack, and getting a licence takes a couple of days.
That said, I am also using 0.99 still, for a more serious reason: I mainly use BAO for audio, and the omission of freeDB is a major inconvenience. If freeDB features return in v.1.0, you can guess what I'll do...

free db doesent exists anumore in bao??why??

Now I have to say I never like this program. But recently I had a problem burning a game (which I haven't tried it to see if it worked) so I tried it and since CopyToDVD new version stinks!!! Well I used this program to burn back up DVDs and I have found that G04's are more compatible with players that I could only play + media on. Well the only problem I found was the new one doesn't see my optorite DD0401 and the only one for some reason will not see + media any more, after burning like six of them. But I can live with that and I will now use the program to burn DVD's. Well thanks to who ever makes a great program and thanks to bionic for giving me the idea to take a second look.

Aha, those discs all covered in cobwebs and dust down at my supplier. ;)

Basically they are those disks which currently cost the same as -R, have better defect management and burn at greater speeds than -R
Why it is so dusty at your suppliers? I guess you are his only customer?

No m8, just don't sell over here in the UK simple as that.

So many of course of the early burners were "-R" only so I think people stuck to that format even when the dual-format burners we have now came into vogue. If you check most UK online media retailers you would generally find they maybe do a couple of "+R" brands compared to dozens of different "-R" brands and dyes. "+R" is also almost always dearer by some way here too and yet another reason why they just don't sell well. In fact even after burning several thousand DVDR's myself I still have yet to burn to a "+R" DVDR.

I guess it is a different situation from what you say in other countries.

my puter stockist rarely stocks +R media as it simply does not sell as its been superceeded by the ever popular -R media :)

there was rumour that BILL GATES was to put a HEAVY PUSH on the +R format ?! but not heard anything since !?

I was also buying -R only for a long time, but then the prices of +R were almost the double.
Currently, the prices here are absolutely flat (about 1.20 euros here for cheap Intenso DVD plus jewelbox for both -R and +R), and at least for cheapos the percentage failure of +R is way lower.
Standalone compatibility could be an issue, but most current standalones can handle -R equally well with +R and without the need of "bitsetting" or any similar dirty trick.

I asked my dealer on the weekend what % of his total DVDR sales are +R. He said about 2% He sells DataBank -R's for 90c and +R's for $1.50 Why on earth would you want to buy +R's. I think Sony & Phillips have spread a lot of propaganda on the subject
