buning fails with ECDC in XPSP2

got the following message via PM from a new (afraid?) forum member; so please don't blaspheme, mates;

Hope you can help.
After a system crash due to virus...had to format and installed XP Professional updated to SP2(originally running XP Home ED). Since then i cannot seem to complete a full CD burn. I initially tried using XP's own software...oops. I then installed Easy CD 5(which worked fine prior to crash/re-install) and updated to recognize drive. Still no good. It seems to be going fine until I get the following error messages.

E80041871: CD-Recorder error - cannot seek to the requested location - [03/02/00]
E80041899: Write error - buffer underrun occurred - [06/C5/00]
E80041925: TrackWriter error - Command retry failed - [T7118]

I would be very gratefull if you could offer some advice..in laymans terms if poss.

sorry i don't have knowledge about Easy CD Creator; but i can speak in general;

you get "Buffer Underruns", so i recommend you first to verify if DMA is enabled;

also follow the other advises there;

if it won't work it might be your Easy CD Creator 5 version is not SP2 compatible and need to be updated or replaced;
so i like to recommend you a good freeware alternative: http://www.burnatonce.com
