Boot.ini problem

When windows 2000 boots up after teh 1st screen where it displays the IDE channel, the next screen after that i get:

Invalid Boot.ini file
Booting from
C:\\WINNT

after that it is ok.
My computer is ok but i want to sort this problem out, is it because i have 2 boot.ini files?
I recently was using BootXP to change the start-up screen for win2k...but have uninstalled it since.
Maybe that has left a boot.ini file somewhere.
Ive tried searching for Boot.ini files but windows does not find anything?

Can anyone help me...im sick of this that message

the thing is i cant find boot.ini anywhere???
Ive even searched for it but it does not show up.
I know in win98 it is in the C:// but in win2k i dont know where it is stored. Im gonner need help locating it!

im using win2k pro

its not there?
i see all hidden files but dont see that. I remember deleting the boot.ini file when it appeared when i installed BootXP.
Although i see a BOOT.ini file in partion magic 7.01 directory, should i copy that 1 to the root directory?
This is what it shows on the boot.ini file:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
