Blue Screen!!!

Hello everyone, I put new m/boards in my XP Pro setup all the time. (don't ask why) Of course I get blue screens frequesntly which eventually clear. Is there a way to turn off Mr Gate's spy stuff so i can change hardware without this hassle. Thanks

timmid once again welcome to the group! :)

A few questions for you...

The "blue screens" you describe are BSOD's (Blue Screen Of Death) or Windows Activation screens?

When you change out the Mobo's, you are reinstalling XP Pro every time, right?!

My advice will follow when I know which of these issues is occurring. ;)

little odd changing ur mobo so often :)

those blue screens arent a result of any spy ware from mr gates - its a warning that something seriously wrong with the setup. likely cause is you still have device drivers for devices from your old mobo not supported on your new mobo.

its not a good idea to go changing ur mobo so often without re-installing the os - though - if u insist - there might be away to minimise the occurances for BSODs.

Try unistalling all system devices provided through your old mobo - before u go swapping it out for the new mobo - this way any old - system devices (not talking about your PCI or AGP cards, but everything provided on board mobo) and drivers wont intrfere with the new mobo system devices.

Not the best option - but could help reduce occurances of BSODs. I would say re-installin the os with new mobo is a better option.
