Backup problems with Hitman contracts and manhunt

I have just got hitman contracts of the internet and bought the manhunt backup of a mate adn they both don't work?
I have a neo 4 chip and have to use the disc swop method for my dvd-/+r's to boot up, but manhunt worked but was very jumpy on intro and crashed in the game and with hitman was jumpy with the fmv's and also crashed.
Tryed them both the other day and now they don't work?
I really don't understand, the hitman works for me mate, he tryed it on his ps2 with messiah chip and worked perfect?, is it the chip or the laser or something else, it play may other dvd+r backup all right, just not these?

Errrr.... you should only be backing up ps2 games that you own.

i have bought manhunt and hitman contracts now because the copys don't work, but i also tryed using timespliters 2 for the large toc, put hitman contracts and it worked, but the video was very jumpy?
