I will have to check the format, the CD burner I got is capable of 4 different formats and I did not select one so I guess it was the default format - whatever that is.

What is the problem? My buddy burned the game on his DVD burner (it is my game, just checking this out before I spend the cash on a DVD burner). The game is ATV 2. I believe he took the ISO image and burned that to a DVD, is that the problem?
Let me know what you think and if it is worth it to spend the cash for the DVD burner.

I do not recommend playing backups without a modchip. However if you wish to do this try looking on www.google.com searching for "ps2 knife trick"
Boot PS2 CD backups only. As 90% of PS2 games (all new PS2 games) are DVD based, this limits your ability to boot backups of your original PS2 games.Tim007 said:what about the external plug in mod chips

You will need a DVD burner if you want to fully back up all files from the PS2 DVD gameTim007 said:DO I need a dvd burner to back up DVD based games?
can you burn the game to 2 disc so that you do not lose any datapsx_paul said:You will need a DVD burner if you want to fully back up all files from the PS2 DVD game
If you are planning on not using a DVD burner, then you can "rip" out certain files to cut the game down to CD-R size. You can find rip kits & instructions on how to do this over at www.alucard.cc
This obviously removes some larger files from the disc, resulting in loss of sound or cut-scenes etc.
If either the rip kit, or you, can do that then yes. That is what the MGS2 kit doesTim007 said:can you burn the game to 2 disc so that you do not lose any data
