avi to svcd problems

during the reencoding of the file cce came up with some errors. the files finished up fine as far as the video is concerned but the audio is slightly out of sync on a number of occasions. how can this be altered. Also i couldnt check the convert divx3 to divx4 box in the misc tab and couldnt find the sharpen option in the frameserver tab also. not sure if that helps the diagnosis!
