avast! Home Edition is a complete anti-virus package for Windows 9x/Me, NT/2000/XP. It is FREE for registered home noncommercial users. It's certified by ICSA and obtained 100% mark from Virus Bulletin in June 2002 under Windows XP Pro.
avast! contains two GUIs (simple and advanced) on demand and on access scanner. It simply integrates with user screen saver, file explorer and mail client. Updates are simple as clicking one button - updates are smaller than 100 KB.

Thanks for the heads up Rasta!

I have been evaluating the Home 3.xx version for a month now and have been impressed with it. Even have applied for and recieved own free key to extend it beyond the 3 month limitation.

My only complaint about Home ver 3.xx, is that it slows down my IE 6.02 browser and some internal system processes. I know it's not just me, as I've seen a few peeps complaining about this before. Hopefully ver 4 is better in that department.

Nevertheless, it's an excellent and effective AV... and who can complain about the FREE part! ;)
