Audio file size using TMPGenc.

Can any of the experts on the forum explain the following :-

Recently producing VCD from a TV program captured with virtual Dub I frameserved to TMPGenc , 2 pass VBR and set audio rate to 192. TMPGenc wizard indicated a file size of 798Mb if I uses a CBR.

Final file size came out at 850MB - too big to burn.

Using TMPGenc tools I demuxed the file and extracted the audio.
I then remuxed the audio to the origional file using non standard VCD mode.

The final MPG file came out at 798Mb.

Both the larger file and the new file played the same. Lip sync was perfect on both files. So what happened to 52 Mb ?

I can only assume that if a Variable bit rate is used the audio file is padded at times but I would be glad to hear opinions.

Best regards

It fits very nicely and without any problems to a 90-minute CD- probably in an 80-minute one too, with a wee of overburning.
