Gonna buy new sound card this weekend couse i sold old one for more then i paid for,so?Did search and my question is??What you guys thinking about audigy2??I know that audigy1 wasnt perfect--but heard that a audigy2 is a much better deal..Price is 105 can$ for oem and 157 for retail in a box...Somebody know what`s a difference(software fo4r sure--but what else----couse guy in a store would order it for me---neighboorood store==so i cannot see it--until he gets them--so i have to tell him oem or retail--so he can order it!!)...Also any good competion--cant be much more expensive then above---so post it if any--Thanks guys!!Only requerements is--well,as many as possible of those..is;Has to work good with winxp,few out-inputs,digital output for dss satellite(5.1dd--so i could sell my hardware decoder),and digital input when i backing my LEGALLY bought audioprotected cds((if i cant rip`em with a cdrom??)+digital stereo output(coaxial digital)to my preamp,or even coaxial stereo input,so i can play cds on my standalone cd--and record it with pc?....So post your candidates,please!!Thanks a lot guys!!!:)BTw,i know that audigy2 cant do all this--but i just posted what i would like.....Btw,found a link with audigy2retail--its software+few cables--but no mentioning of remote control??????What i need is some card with a remote couse;got a good quality preamp and poweramp(luxman)which doesent have a remote--older stuff,and my dd decoder-amplifier is confugured allready---so i really need a remote for pc--so i can play mp3s from a bed--without watching at screen???If i buy remoteless souynd card,i will definetly have to make that winamp plugin which uses a serial-port for connection....Anyway--now you know what i need???Here is the link for a retail package...Btw,i had a audigy2 for a few weeks--but in that time my home speakers were not here--so was listen it on my pc speakers--so really its not possiblle to test it properlly with those cheap plastic 1way drivers!! http://www.techspot.com/reviews/hardware/audigy2/index.shtml

Buy Creative stuff @ your own risk! You have been warned...
For 100 US $ you can get M-Audio (formerly known as Midiman) Revolution 7.1 soundcard (retail), which kicks the socks off any Creative card- as well as many $ 200+ semi-pro soundcards.
Or if you look after an "old fashioned" style soundcard, then Turtle Beach Santacruz goes just over 50$ and it's fine.

Problem is-that no card support dvdaudio except audigy2..++I do need remote--and its cheap--On the other side creative sux--BIG TIME+++Dont support a 24 bit?!!!On the other side--I did check a revolution7.1 and it have most impressive revievs everywhere++It do support tryly 24 bit--no resampling like audigy---as you said like 200+us $!!!But prices are strange--Found in a uk--80 pounds+tax+shipping???Opposite to that,found on a maudio homepage for 89$ us????Free shipping to canada--they make them in Canada!!:D ...All versions appear to be retail---Btw,i agre3e about comparing creative and revolution--just didnt know that price is so good??:confused: :confused: Btw--Found`em for 89 here(by canadian google)thats bout`50-60 us$???Do you know what`s thet theatertek...If its really that--gonna buy it tomonrow--no joke--here is the link--gonna phone tomonrow to see more!!:) http://www.digitalconnection.com/Products/Audio/revolution.asp

I dont know--when im thinking--its a just to cheap to be true???Maybe they are rip-artists??Goes gonna go and buy from maudio homepage...89 us$$--free shipping...Still ok...---If i dont change my mind again??

$89 a good price. Remember hardware sales go in spurts. Audio might flop out and not come back for 3-4 months.

I do NOT have a Revolution. My main card is an entry level pro beastie (just stereo card, no 5.1 and such...) and in my old puter I still manage with a 4-year old Soundblaster PCI 128. But everyoone that has this card has fallen in love with it, and my 2-3 hearings of its achievements were impressive, to say the least. Plug in a pair of good speakers- this thing does not like at all cheapo plastic cabinets and wacko units.

WEll--looks like done deal...Found`em in a store near me--retail box package-89$us too--so im going to buy it wright now...Thanks for input guys!!!And of course --wont play it on a pc speakers:D :D Will write how`s working!!!:) :)

I have the old Audgy, 5.1 speakers. GREAT dolby from Music CDs and DVD w/PowerDVD.
The concerts are 5 speaker sounds.

My old Audigy does not have REMOTE as "standard". Check their site for the latest. That is hardware added on I believe.

I checked--comes only with some 250$version....Anyway i bought a revolution7.1....it`s awesome---real good!!

Congrats on buying the Revolution... If you don't miss the midi I/O which is absent, you can now hear at probs with Creative cards and stick your tongue out... :D

Thanks bud!!You`re right on it--as always:D It is a good card indeed......As for questions;You`ll need a good home system to get a most of the card.........Its need also a winme,win2000or xp to work.,....For frequenzu above 96khz--you need a service pack1 for xp or win2000 spo2--minimum....Also its got 7.1 output for dd or dts and dvd is working perfect from my pc dvd rom....You can output it by digital coaxial output,or every speaker separate(which i did) to you external dd decoder,you could do same for all movies downed from net(depends on tgheir"Quality"")..And you got mixer(m-audio))--so you could choose mode you want(aslso some games moode)....And deal wiuth 24 bit audio directly--doesent have to resample down to 16bit--like audigy!!Also it got possibillity for direct monitoring in asio:cool: :cool: :cool: Btw-you could find cable much cheaper then that......And for last--you can get a card now in a compusa for 70$:)

Revolution looks pretty good, but is it true it has no midi port ?
if so it would be no good to cubase users like myself.
I was going to get this card until i found this out.

Most audio dedicated cards do not offer a midi port currently... but M-Audio/Midiman offers several solutions for MIDI (fully ASIO 2 compliant) either on PCI or USB interface, at low prices.
El cheapo midi/joystick MRU-401 interfaces which feature on most Creative soundards are not really ASIO2 compliant- even those which according to Creative are.
