Another suggestion if you want it!! :)

Im beginning to feel like a thief, but I noticed on the 'unite the cows' forum they have 'level bars' for members to show how much they contribute to the forum in different ways.
Im sure alot of the regular posters and visitors would love to see their levels of 'exprience' and 'popularity' rise for all to see. N.B. go check it out, its quite nice to look at and im sure alot of the '1000' poster's would want it!

That is kiddy stuff, that is what I think ..
Some people with less postings surely do more for this forum/site then me ...
Just look at TnM, he does have less then 100 posts, but supports us with cracks hints and many other things ....
I do not want to split into good and "bad" members :p
That is my opinion, but hell, democracy ...
Some other members/mods/admin have surely some arguments as well :)

Yeah right ...
The forum is now online since quite some time ...
and the forum team did a fine job, it didn´t turn into a kiddy flaming forum, and that is pretty cool ...
Implementing such a feature might be a step in the total wrong direction ....
CDFreaks forum had something like this, and they did remove it after some time ...

I agree with N.B/Joripe on this. It's almost impossible to judge how "valuable" a post or poster is.

As an example, I have nothing to do with the Console Gaming Forum (coz I dont have one) or the German Forum (coz I can't speak German) but I'm sure the people who post in there make a very good contribution to those that need it. How would I be able to judge who is a "good" member in those situations?

It may also lead to people posting for the sake of it just to obtain the next "rung" in the ladder. We already have the Member Status which should be enuff for anyone.

From what I've seen on this Forum, all members try to offer good information - whether that happens to be one post a month or 200 a month is irrelevant.

There are already too many places in life where people are judged - let us stay just as we are :)

Sorry to offend you It was just a suggestion!!!... I wasnt trying to split the forum and I know who are valuable members. I may not have a lot of posts under my belt but I try and contribute in my own little way

ya no worries killamente.
I & a few of the other members give suggestions that get shot-down sometimes.
But at least you get to voice an idea. It's a worthy contribution here & we do appreciate it. This idea didn't pan out, but maybe another in the future will.
Good luck & have fun

PS
if ever we get something like that, remember to vote for me (*_^) ROFL

I'll throw a couple of suggestions in:

1. Thread scoring - though it's there on the main site (I think?) and I clearly don't pay much attention to it.

2. Some sort of "thanks log" that doesn't mean adding many surplus posts - kind of thread soring again, but in a different way?

oha, killamente ..
I didn´t want to be agressive nor being offending ..
Sorry :)
Sometimes stuff like this happens, since my native language is german, so ..
Sorry, I wanted to be nice and polite ...

Thanks for your suggestion ...
I hope you understand the arguments we mentioned ..
