AMD roadmap – a 4400+ Clawhammer

And Barton Q4, if this page is right

By Mike Magee, 26/06/2002 16:53:03 BST

A CHINESE SITE has posted what appears to be an authentic AMD roadmap which shows its plans for its future Clawhammer and Opteron chips.

The single page also shows that it may be the fourth quarter before Barton is launched, while it shows a Thoroughbred 2400+ at 1.93GHz slated for the third quarter, which as everyone knows starts at the end of June.

The Clawhammer appears to run at 2GHz or above, and is dubbed the 3400+.

But a further iteration of the Clawhammer chip, slated for the first half of next year has an M4000+ on the roadmap, while this will up to the M4400+ by the second half of 2003.

AMD will also introduce its Sledgehammer dual chips at M4000+ and they're now slated for the second half of 2003, if this roadmap is genuine.

After my first month of an AMD 2100+ system 1 Gig Corsair 3000 cas2 RAM with a GeForce4 Ti 4200...running great at 166mhz FSB with Windows XP Pro...bla, bla, bla...I'm an AMD devotee!

Yeah it's a screamer. Pretty cheap too! If you are in the market...the best suggestions for these babies is fast RAM, a beefy 400watt PSU, and good cooling. Most of the problems I see out there are related to one of these. I also use the lastest VIA 4in1's (posted 2 days ago) and it's rock solid stable.

nice pc you got there
Thanks bud! ;)

agreed dxkim!
Issues people have are from poor quality hardware products.
If you have a good PSU & memory then the rest is mainly a piece of cake (ofcourse always have a good HSF solution).

PS
damn, you bested me with your PC (need to upgrade mine now lol)

Used my tax refund and part of my holiday bonus to pay for it! ;)

Plus...even though I'm not a computer installer anymore, I still have friends that are and get me my hardware cheap. :)
