umm click the start menu and it should say LOG OFF ADMINISTRATOR then you will know if you are logged in as admin or not :)

if it says that then you are logged in as admin :)

Just a note that only works if you name your acount admin you know when you load the pc. But you could have called it anything and still have admin rights. :)
 
ok if I logon as "user ?" and have admin rights does this mean I am the admin? I don't think so. Because I can logon using "administrator"/w admin password and there are proggys that I have installed as a admin but ar'nt there as the user "administrator".

Basically if you want FULL control over the machine you need to be logged in as "ROOT" or in the MS world "administrator" and you have to know the admin password. as it is set when the OS was set up.

just a guess though
 
Or simply go start/run and type in "control userpasswords2" without the quotes. There you can see which user accounts have full administrative rights and which don't.
