Is it possible to adjust the timing of subtitles without ripping and re-encoding??? Halfway through a movie the subtitles are off by 5 secs. Can I edit/delay the substream without going through the whole rigamorole again, using IFOdit or any of the numerous sub tools out there? i just spent three days making the subs work in the movie and don't want to re-encode again. and again, and again...

Well you could definatly do it without re-encoding, but without re-ripping I am not so sure.
You can use DVDLab Pro to reauthor the dvd with your new fixed subtitle file. Vobsub has an editing Subs program, I'm sure there are many others as well.
