I'm trying to do a fresh install of WinXP Pro on an Acer Travelmate 290 Lci laptop. The laptop came with restore disks containing WinXP home. When I try to boot from the WinXp Pro cd, I get a message something like this "no emulation boot" or something similar. I went to the acer website, and could not get any info there. Does some one knows of a workaround for this problem? BTW this laptop doesn't have a floppy disk either so bootinh from floppy disk is not an option.
