A good rewriteable software...

Woody, or anybody, can you recommend a good CDRW rewriteable software to download. With Nero v5.5.6.4 I can't seem to erase unwanted files from my rewriteable disc. Am I just missing it or is there a way to erase files from a CDRW data disc without erasing the whole disc with Nero v5.5.6.4? I f you can erase individual files from Nero v5.5.6.4 can you explain. I was using Direct CD but it messed up all the time. I'm new to all this. Thanks.

Hi bud.You know what ,you are asking the wrong guy. That's why I didn't reply.I have cdrw's still new in the package!I haven't used one for almost 2 years.I just use cdr's now. When I did erase them I used Clone cd.I was testing games.;) It worked fine. You had to erase the whole cd though.:)

Hi. The only way there is to erase single files is with packetwriting. This method make it possible to work with a CDRW disk as if it is a floppy or HD. To do so the CD has to be formated for use with this file format. You must also have a Packetwriting soft. Nero don´t has this built in. However Ahead has its own solution for this...InCD. There are a few other as well..but unfortunately almost all of them uses their own way to burn and therefore you can´t change between programs.

In the past I used InCD...also called abCD by Prassi...But today I don´t like it anymore. In the beginning it was small and easy to remove if necessarily...all together tree files...the absolute opposite of "DirectCD" by Adaptec. But for some reason Ahead changed this.

In the end its a matter of taste what to use. We are all individuals and therefore it´s best to try them out. I use Veritas DLA and has no problems so far. It´s a part of Veritas RecordNow Max 3...IMO a very good burning program...I use this instead of Nero...in the past Nero was my first choise..simple the best...Today Nero is full of buggs...
