2nd computer

Hi,

I'd like to rtry Linux, since I'm on my new XP box.

I have a old P166 Mhz and would like to use it for this.

But I don't have the place for 2 comps, 2 mouse, 2 keyboards,2 displays....

Would it be possible to connect this pc via ethernet to my home network and use a X server to access it? I don't know much about X servers, is there something I could use on Windows XP? Wouldn't it be a problem to install linux on that machine via another computer??

tanx :)

KVM Switch is what I use just search on Google for KVM(Keyboard Video Mouse)
U can use 2 (or more) PC's on same keyboard monitor & mouse.

If no keyboard is attached, you need the BIOS options set to avoid -
"Keyboard missing - press F1 to continue"

There is a free X-Server

(In X terms, the workstation runs the display server, and the Server computer runs the client programs - confusing or what!)

<bewildered look> On a 166 you may have trouble installing any recent versions </bewildered look>

I suggest you use slackware, it is up to date and you can install it on just about any machine you want (although if you are using an old machine, it may or may not be cd-bootable so make a boot floppy, well 2- boot and root) in case
