16-bit?...16-bit?! You are trying to install a 16-bit version on XP?!
Ahh..I remember those days, back when Win95 (a 32-bit OS) was new and both versions were on the same CD...pretty rare now.

I use Eudora 5.1.1 with Windows XP Pro and have no problems. But then again I have the 32-bit version installed.

Your CD probably has 2 versions of Eudora on that CD...16-bit and 32-bit. 16-bit is really only for older Windows like Win3.x (it will work in Win95 though). NT OS's, like Win2000 and XP, do not like 16-bit proggies even in compatability mode...in fact there is no Win3.x compatability mode. It will work in Win95, because it has some built in compatability with 16-bit proggies (like Win3x and DOS).

If there is not a 32-bit installer on your CD...go to eudora.com and download the latest version. It uses a 32-bit installer. h**p://www.eudora.com/

i guess its a problem related to NTFS coz when use other file systems like FAT, FAT32 or CDFS (on a cd) everything works fine.

maybe we doing something wrong, like not running a specific service or doing a special config.

thanks
