1.5hr with TMPGenc 2.57 and 6.5hr with TMPGenc 2.59

I've got a 1 hour DivX V3 (700mb) and was trying to code it to VCD using latest TMPGEnc (2.59), by stripping the audio first, and then feeding that wav into TMPG along with the AVI. On my Athlon 1.4Ghz it says 6hrs. Far too long! I had an older version (2.57) of TMPGenc and feeding in the same files and template it coded it in 1.5hrs. Why? Is TMPGEnc 2.59 not as good?
anyone else seen anything similar?

BTW, running on WinXP SP1.

I've not done much with TMPGEnc 2.59 but the few conversions I've done with it have not been any slower than 2.58, which wasnt anyslower than 2.57, etc.

Maybe increase the priority of the Directshow Reader in the Enviroment Settings/VFAPI can help.

I've done a few films with 2.59 and it performed pretty much the same as the previous version for me too.

hey albe how big does your output file comes out too. i have a few avi files that only take 1hr and change to encode to vcd but come out 900mb to 1gb. can't do anything with it so its sitting on my comp taking 3gb of space looks like i'm going have to add a dvd burner to my christmas list.

chickenhq, a VCD will ALWAYS be 10mb per minute of movie, regardless of the size of the AVI. A 90min movie will always be 900mb long as a VCD but could be only 250mb long as an AVI

But a DVD burner would be nice.
