zone alarm & kazaalite freeze

I use kazaalite to download music videos. Never had any problems in the past until the past few days. When I started Kazaa after about 10 minutes, everything seems to crawl or just not respond. I allow three uploads with a low kb rate. I am on a cable modem. I defragged, run two different spyware programs which helped identify junk, ran a complete virus check with avast. I get on the internet, multi task and everything is just fine. As soon as I open the kazaalite within 10 to 20 minutes the screen won't respond. I have used zone alarm in the past no problems and I even got the latest update thinking that was the problem. Still no luck. Because of my location, it is impossible to get the american music videos so I download them from kazaa. I guess if I can't find a solution to kazaa and zonealarm I'm (we're) screwed. So if you guys or gals have any ideas to correct this or another fairly easy alternative, I'm all ears. Everything else is fine, but the music videos from kazaa are a life saver. Newest version of the kazalite resurrection and zone alarm. It might work if I turn off the zonealarm but I may be opening a whole new can of worms. Your help is sincerely appreciated from all of us Americans in asia. Music videos are our escape. Sincere thanx

Is it ZoneAlarm v.5?
It's "true vector" service seems to have issues with a lot of P2P programs (KazaaLite, Shareaza, Emule, Azureus...). What's worse, if you uninstall ZA5, traces of the true vector service remain in registry and create loads of problems...
The solution is of course- using a better firewall (my suggestion is either Outpost or Look'n'Stop, although "almost" any firewall in the market should be superior to ZoneAlarm).

yes it ver 5

Scarecrow, thanx for the response. I guess a lot of folks use the zone alarm because it's free. The other two you mentioned I will check out. If I uninstall zonealarm, is there a good registry utility to help clean out the registry? Is there a big difference between the two you mentioned and zonealarm? Thanx for the input.

firewall choices

scarecrow, looked around and it seemps outpost gets a lot of thumbs up. Look n stop doesn't seem to get a lot of reviews. Laz, on this site, likes sygate. Is there a way you guys could start a thread for firewalls and p2p stability to get an idea what is good for kazaa and not a resoursce hog and still be protected?Thanx
