My name is Derek and I am a new member. I live in CT and work in R&D for powder metallurgy. I recently purchased a new computer (Dell Dimension 8200) and I added a DVD Burner (Dell issued 4x DVD+R/RW). I plan on using the burner to backup all of my DVD's and Playstation games. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has spent thousands of dollars on games and movies just to lend them out and have them ruined or never returned. I posted a thread in a different location and was told that the software for copying playstation games was free (DVD Encryptor). Will this software backup all of my games? I also purchased a mod chip from modchip.com. It is the DMS3 V2.0 ModChip. Does anyone see any future problems with hardware compatibility issues? Will this free software copy my DVD movies as well as my playstation games? I almost bought DVD X Copy Platinum. What are some opinions on this software? So have I asked too many questions yet?

Hey Derek, welcome to the forum.

I would suggest that you start a separate thread for each of your various topics of interest, in the appropriate forum area for that topic (for example a thread on DVD X Copy belongs in the DVD burning area). Also, scan back through the prior posts in the various forums as you'll likely find that most of your immediate questions have already been answered (use the search button as well).

Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum Derek :)

Any ?'s you have that are PS2 releated, be sure to check out the Console Gaming section. If you can't find what you are looking for, simply ask :)

DVD Decrypter is a good freeware choice for backing up PS2 DVD based games :) Nice choice on the chip too :)
