Have just purchased the above, But I can't access any CD whether its audio or data, just keeps prompting me to insert disk :mad: All seems well in Device manager. Tried to update Firmware and it just restarts my pc, All software recognises the drive just keeps prompting me to insert a disk.

And yes I have inserted a Disk to no avail, Any Suggestions

Master - 80 Gig Western Digital Caviar WD800BB
Slave - 60 Gig Maxtor DIAMOND MAX PLUS D740X

IDE 2

Master - Lite-On 165H DVD-Rom
Slave - Lite-On 32125W CD-RW

Have replaced Lite-On 32125W with Yamaha CRW-F1

Due to Yamaha Not Working Have Replaced Lite-On CD-RW back into system

Have Also Tried Yamaha CRW-F1 in another system same problem

I am having similar issues. Everything is installed right. Firmware is 1d. When I put a disc in the blue light flashes several times indicating that a disc is being read. Then the purple light just stays on. Yet the drive repeatly tells me no disc has been inserted.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the software that came with the burner installed and the software that came with the CD Burner. Have not installed the software for my DVD Burner yet.

Sorry, no problem. I don't have any extra software installed.

This is the software that came with the burnerNero, InCD, NeroMix, Nero Utility Kit, Nero Wave Editor, PhotoDeluxe and Photoshop LE.

Thanks for all your help scarecrow. Didn't need to uninstall. Started to work when I got home today.

Does anybody have any tips what kind of CD's or colours of CD's or colours of pictures give the best result with the F1 tatoo?

It's supposed to work best with AZO dyed blanks.

i'm using TDK CD-R74 "Reflex Ultra" 24x for audio + tattooing;

Been a F1 burner for a good while.. (can ya tell by my avatar..) I even had a thread up with some examples of burnt T@2's, must be a year at least, no idea if they're still there..

Difficult to get great dark media, anyone remember the deep sea blue Samsung's?, they would have been great! just as this drive appeared on the market, the fashion for dark dye's seemed to change to whiter than white..

I like to send someone a subtle T@2 on light dye Memorex or similar.. and when it catches the light, they go, what the fu.. was that, heh heh..

Good luck with it, nice drive, the external version of this drive, in particular the firewire version, still look superb..

Ahh...the F1

Still got mine...burning everything I throw at it. Couldn't agree more with you Strahlen, times are different now...less money in my account and no more Yamahas...here now are the days of the $9 (AR) LiteOns from BestBuy...go figure. My F1 is by FAR still my fav :D
