XVis and DivX movies out of sync

Since I installed DX9, any divX (5.02 or 5.03) or XVid movies play with video out of sync. with sound. I can get them to sync. in Media Player 9 by applying DFX, unapplying and then re-applying the plug-in to the movie. I normally watch my movies in WinDVD, but DFX doesn't seem to be available for this proggie.
Is any-one else having this problem ? Is it DX9 ? Is there a fix available ?

I've installed DX9 in my Win2000 system just a couple of weeks back and I have no probs with DivX or Xvid playback. What was in sync before the upgrade is still in sync after. So problem probably lies elsewhere.

Been a while since I posted my original query, but in the last cuppla days I found a firmware update for the Liteon 48X12X48, which apparently FIXES the problem of creating DivX movies out of sync. Seems it may have been my burner all this time. When I burn my next DivX or X-Vid movie I'll let people know. (Got 2 free movies a day from Video Ezy for the next 3 days)
