XVid to Vcd with Ulead dvd workshop 1.2 cdr size problem

Please, let me first tell you how much I like your forum which is excellent.

Your members have a deep knowledge on the subject and also can talk with technical terms which is a very strong point for the forum.

I have ripped a documentary dvd through autoGk 1.2 to XVid with a target size of 640 Mb but Ulead dvd workshop 1.2 ask for a disk size of 970 Mb and I ask please to know what is going on.

I am really very happy with the dvd workshop as I have used it again some time ago when I copied some vcd's with the help of the VcdGear and it gave me very good picture quality.

For VCD 1min ~ 10MB's, so would I be right if I said that this documentary was 97mins?

Better to go direct from the DVD by the way rather than DVD-->AVI-->VCD.

Check out the Tutorials at http://www.dvdrbase.com/forumdisplay.php?f=120 They use TMPGEnc (with free MPEG1 encoding) to convert either the original DVD (the best way) or the Xvid to VCD.
