I'm converting an Xvid DVDrip of a tv episode to SVCD, but the only problem is when it converts the final result is very jaggedy.. i.e. i'm thinking that i'm doing something wrong with interlace and stuff...... i'm pretty sure that the XVID is progressive and even when i select that it comes out 'jaggedy' i.e. you can see lines around people and objects.
The XVID is 350meg for 42min so is v.good qlt and i'm stuck :S
I've tried No Interlacing, Keep interlaced and Telecide (PAL) and all three put out the same result. Will my TV display it correctly? because it the jaggedness occurs on everything, even nonmoving objects.
Thank you.

Also.. is there anyway to make CCE use FFDshow to decode the XVID because if it could it would be very good seeing as hwo you can use the Xsharpen and other filters.

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

Have a look at using DVD2SVCD with CCE for your conversion. It uses AVISynth and you can use all the available filters available for it. There is a guide in the Tutorial section.

I have never seen an Interlaced DivX ever. Can you attacked a screen shot of what the problem is. Can you also post what GSPOT reports on the DivX file.

Well XviD does support interlaced material, however that wouldn't really explain the problems with non moving objects.

If you really want to use ffdshow, simply use directshowsource in AVISynth instead of AVISource.

A screenshot of the video or a small clip would probably more usefull than a GSpot report.
