Xvid to DVD-R problems

Have successfully converted an Xvid as per Chickenmans new tut, but when it comes to burning in Nero keep getting errors.

Dvd video files compliance check failed.

Violation against dvd specification.

dvd video files reallocation failed.

I also get the option to burn but it might not work....so i burnt it to a dvd-rw and it worked in my comp , but not on my standalone dvd player.

burner is a Pioneer ao5 , disc is a pioneer 2x dvdr-w , have tried with different versions of nero but stil no luck.

Any body got any ideas?

Ok i had another go at this and used DvDIt 2.5 , using the same dvdr-w disc i successfully made a copy that works on my comp and standalone player.

Would still like to find out what the prob was with Nero though.

I have done a dozen or so and mate the same all with no problems. Also to a Pioneer A05. A few things to look for though, audio MUSt be at 48khz, not all Xvid/Divx have it at 48, some are at 44.1khz Double check all your settings in DVD2SVCD, obvious but worth stateing again. You did delete the *.lay file thats in the VIDEO_TS folder ?

I'm using Nero 5.5.9.0, OEM version that came with my LiteOn, what version you using?

had trouble with the audio, had to use besweet to reencode to ac3.

definitely deleted the .lay file

tried with nero 5.5.9.9 and the latest version.

I'll have another go at it again tonight and double check my settings...as they say practice makes perfect.

Also got the warning messages come up but it still burnt fine and was able to play in mine and my mates dvd standalone.Using Nero 5.5.9.17

Ok i reencoded again and went to burn with Nero again..still no go on my standalone player.

Had a look thru vcdhelp forums and come up with a fix for Nero.

It seems a few people are getting the same problem.

Just had to change the write mode to DVD-UDF and it burned perfectly without any error messages .
