XVID to DVD Encoding

I have problems with converting XVID to DVD/MPEG2. THe XVID plays OK on my WMP, however when I encode it, it usually ends up with an out of sync video & audio. I used AVI2DVD (w/ CCE) and used TMPG Plus to encode, but results are the same.
What do you suggest is the best way for me to encode XVID to DVD?

Thanks in advance!!

This is an AVI?
If so have you tried scanning it for errors?
Also what audio format? VBR mp3?

Confused by this statement "AVI2DVD (w/ CCE) and used TMPG Plus to encode". If you are using TMPGEnc to encode then what is the mention of CCE about?

Also what build of XviD do you have installed?

Try opening the file in Virtualdub, If a message box pops up saying the audio is VBR and will cause a skew or something like that...then under video tab, select direct stream copy....under the audio tab, select full processing. Then under file, save as avi. Note: the file will now be almost twice as large but will have no audio sync errors when you encode it.

Hope this helps.

How is the audio out of sync, is it a constant amount (ie; 1 second) throughout the movie or does ite sync get further and further out of sync. If its out by a constant amount and you have converted it to AC3 (if not then I recommend you do so), then just use AC3 Delay Corrector ( from doom9.net download section) to offset the audio and re-author.
