And therin lies the trouble with converting from XviD I too have found, sound sync. :(

Lots of tools for the job as suggested above but if you just want a quick all-in-one tool for the job I have found dvdSanta to be very good quality wise and almost always spot-on for lipsync when converted to DVD. I use it to convert US TV Ep's from XviD to DVD, selct the 1.47GB option and can them squeeze 4 40 min ep's onto one DVDR. Usually the quality is very good and looks fine on my 32" W/S TV and takes me about 1 hr to convert a 40 min ep on average. All depends on the original quality of the .avi of course at the end of the day.

For best results then maybe use a method that uses CCE such as Film Machine or DVD2SVCD for example but the above is worth a try first I'd say to see if it suits your needs.

FREE trial available here:- www.dvdsanta.com

XviD and AVI are not the same thing. XviD is a ISO MPEG4 video codec and AVI is a container format. The sync problems are probably due to the use of VBR mp3 audio, which avi/acm technically doesn't support.

ok i just used dvd santa and the audio and video sync are well out.
The sound was infront of the video, and the audio bite rate was 64kbps .
how do i fix this :(

Tmpeg 3.0 Express allows you to correct the audio sync. When you click add file the first tab is clip info the second tab is Cut-Edit. On the bottom left corner is the option to shift for audio sync either + or -. That should do the trick.

Try AVI Audio Decompressor or mencoder (mencoder.exe -oac pcm -ovc copy input.avi -o output.avi). Both will create an AVI with PCM audio. Check that it plays in sync, if it does then basically any program should be able to maintain sync when converting.

Next time try film mashine or dvd2svcd..
I said more then 100 times on this forum and people dont listenn..i dont know why?
Buy a tv out card and you can forget all encoding converting editing burning....same as good audio cart.
Buy a good audio card and you can download all lossy and lossless formatd-no converting, just connect to your stereo system..
Back to topic-Try to use the latest koepi xvid always...always..always.. :)
Also try dvd2svcd-its free so it doesent cost nothing..
I converted tons of xvid and all come out perfect,be sure to use cce2.50 as encoder and follow the instructions from chickenman tutorial-Simply you cant go wrong with it..I gave link for that tutorial to lots of people some without pc knowledge at all and they all managed to convrt their movies to svcd-dvd... :)

Yeah, usually problems coming couse its a old cocec version,or wrong codec or unstable-alpha version. If you follow simple thing like to install just what you need and when you need-you are problem free forewer :) I was making a same mistakes when i bought a first pc.I was instaling those codec packs with everything checked on-wow i was dumm..All kind of video and audio codecs even some called angel potion??After i saw that that particular codec is very dangerous-forgot why was dangerous-i stopped installing codec packs :) Anyway..im bablling like always :)
