Xvid 2 VCD

HI`yall

I have just downloaded a movie in the Xvid format, "very nice quality" but i want to convert it to VCD, i have installed the lasets codecs and the the movie plays ok, but when i come to extract the audio with Vdub it doesnt regognise the Xvid format, is there any codecs for Vdub that i need to install?, or any other progs that i can use to extract the audio, i use Chickenman`s tute for the conversion.

Hey Chickenman, how about another Tute for Xvid to (S)VCD if the conversion process is different.

THanks for any help guys.

Wow

What a quick reply, thanx bertieg, you guys are so helpful and really know your stuff, that did the trick.

Thanks again.

Try using Nandub as VirtualDUB replacement, it works with a few different formats.

I have written a DivX (including Xvid) to SVCD recently, so have a look at http://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15298

Does TMPGEnc come up with any errors if you try to load the Xvid in as video only?

Also would suggest you use this Xvid codec only, from _http://www.roeder.goe.net/%7Ekoepi/xvid.html

Hi and thamks for the reply Chickenman.

No, i can load the movie straight into TMPgenc as bertieg suggested doing, i have now got a quality VCD of Starwars EP2.

I will take a look at your other Divx/Xvid tutorial and i will also install the codecs that you suggested.

Cheers Chickenman.
