XP won't shutdown

My windows XP pro-devils0wn- would not shutdown when I click the shutdown button. it just restarts itself instead???
the reset button hangs my comp. up???

Any help is greatly appreciated.

do u have easy cd creator installed ??
if you do try uninstalling it or updateing it.
i had the same problem with my xp os.

Seems like your APM is not enabled.

Try this:

Start > Control Panel > Power Options.

Click on the APM tab and check the "Enable Advanced Power Management support" (ie, APM).

Now shut down your PC. It should now successfully complete the shut down process without hanging or restarting.

Just a quick note some mobos don't support this feature
