XP SP2 --> internet very slow

Be more specific.

Stating a problem as "It doesn't work" don't make other people want to help.

There is no such thing as a SP2 feature that slow down internet which cna be disable with a checkbox :p

I didn't tryed SP2 (waiting for the i18n version) but I've heard I think that it limited TCP/IP connections... But I don't think it could slow down the connection that much.

Well, I don't know how else to put it. I installed SP2 and internet is slower than it was. I found a new/modified/hacked ,or whatever, version of tcpip.sys for SP2 on Bittorent that should fix the problem. Apparently, if I understand correctly what I read on a German website, this limitation of the number of connections is indeed what's causing it.

If you run any P2P applications and not just "internet" then the SP2 update was a mistake...
I am highly sceptical about that patched tcpip.sys driver, not because it shouldn't work (actually it should), but because it's extremely dangerous, security-wise, to use a hacked TCP/IP stack.

So, what you're saying is: go back to (or stay with) SP1 if you want maximum speed?
Seem so :)

Ever heard of why is it like this in SP2? Is there a security issue having unlimited? How limiting the connection is correcting this issue?

The problem is not the tcpip.sys file but rather if you did a update to SP2, it installs IPv6 Advanced Networking Pack which does cause a slow response to loading of lots of websites as seen in IE. If you clean installed a slipstreamed WinXP with SP2 CD, then it doesn't install IPv6. Just goto the Command prompt and type: ipv6 uninstall and reboot and your problem is solved.
