XP Pro keep getting system failure..HELP

Hi, Thanks for any help I can receive. I am running XP Pro (devilsown).

I have started to notice that a couple time a week my computer will just shut down by itself then reboot.

After I log back on I get a message that I had a system failure and it asks if I want to send the report to Microsoft or not. I do not send the report.

My question is has anyone else run into this problem? Any Ideas on how to fix it. I have not tried to install the sp 1 beta, as a matter of fact other then this problem my system runs perfect! Thanks!

If you don't have the hotfixes applied, could be:
1. Going into standby and not restarting::
h**p://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q311/5/42.asp
2. "'System has recovered from a serious error' message appears after every reboot"::
h**p://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q317/2/77.asp

If those don't work, you may have to reinstall and pick Reinstall/Repair...

Hi. There is a feature in XP which perform a re-boot after an error in your system. It could be caused by any of your installed apps. You un-select this form Control-panel--system--Advanced. Now I have to try and translate from my Swedish XP.
There should be 3 options in the advanced section and one is for "Start & Restore" or something similar.
In this section find "System-error" and here you have to UN-select "Re-boot automatically"
As I said I have made a free translation and therefore I´m not sure I have used the exact words used in your OS but I believe you may find it. I
hope this will solve the problem. However you need to find out what app is causing the error. Try and read the error report you get when asked to send to MS.
