XP file associations ?

I will give an example of what is happening on my XP Pro ....

When i run avast antivirus and click on the link for more skins i get the message...

"there is no application associated with the given file name extension"

This never used to happen, it happens on other apps to !!

any suggestions ?

Have U tried manually downloadin the skin & then double clickin it, thats how i use the avast skins, that might make the association

Its the actual link that takes you to the site thats the problem, the skins are fine ?
Links work fine when using IE but if i have an app that has some sort of link it wont have it ??!!??
