Hi,
Boot up time varies from computer to computer. My cold boot up time (pre-logon and post-logon), excluding BIOS POST is ~ 24.51 sec. What's your boot up time? BTW, I used hand timing and bootvis.exe to correlate the result, hopefully the data collected is not contaminated w/ overlooked human errors.
Also, running Trace w/ Bootvis, I got the message "drive write caching disabled" under Disk I/O. What advantage/disadvantage and/or risks of having caching enabled?
oh yeah, here's the Microsoft knowledge base info on disk write caching, "hzzp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q259716&" it doesn't explain much.
You all probably know this already but a little verbatim couldn't hurt. bootvis.exe d/l link "hzzp://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/BTV/1.0/WXP/EN-US/bootVis-tool.exe"
