xp and phrophetview (systray icons)

Hello all ,

i got the hercules phrophetview 920 dvi which runs on a resolution of 1280 X 1024 and that makes my taskbar and systray icons look like crap , anybody here knows what to do about that ?

thanks.

well like i said , os is xp pro and the card is a geforce fx 5200 resolution is 1280x1024 32 bits . the icons in the quick launch bar and systray look distorted , like the are too small and that causes them too look crappy .. not as smooth as on my desktop.

this is why i don't like windows :) i got this new computer and had a brainfart i guess ( ordering xp ) .. i'll be back to linux within a matter of days .

other then that , thanks for your reply :)

it could be a problem with your monitor !? does it fully support that resolution !?

some do but suffer badly with distortion as you say :(

Also have you tried adjusting the size of the icons on the task bar in system properties ?! sometimes when they are very small such as when you use 1280x1024 resolution the icons become garbled when tiny :( change the icon size up a few notches and see if there is any improvement :)

i'm sure the resolution is fully supported by the screen .. and i looked everywhere in the system properties to increase the size of the taskbar icons but i can't find that option ( u might have noticed by now i aint a windows kinda guy lol )
i bought this computer with a dvd burner ( sony dwu10a ) and thats why i'm using windows and because i heard that XP is a good os ( and sofar it has been good to me )
i can live with the garbled icons , it aint a big deal but if xp is that good it should at least support small icons when a resolution higher then 640x480 is used lol.
other then that the dvd burning thing goes just fine ( i found all the info i needed on these forums ) and i made a few perfect copy's using dvd shrink 3.0 and imgtool burn.

anyway , i will try to find the option that increases the taskbar icons but i'm pretty sure Xp doesn't have that option ( not far the taskbar i mean )

thanks again :)
