XMpeg 5.02 won't join vobs

Re-installed XP yesterday to overcome problems of DivX and Xvids not synchronising audio and video.
Got new version of XMpeg (5.02) which works well excepting for my inability to get the vobs to join to make a complete movie.
Can any-one tell me if it can be done, and how ?
Earlier versions of XMpeg join the vobs but come up with an error about settings, which, in my past experience, can only be overcome by re0installing windiws (again ??)

Arr.. I thought you needed the thunder.mism.flask plugin to be able to load the whole movies VOB's in. I may be wrong, been a long time since I used it.
