I've got a HP8200 writer which was working fine (if you can class 4x with no buffer underrun fine) until recently when I started getting write errors at about 98%. The on-screen message simply says "Write Error" but the log says "Buffer underrun". Whilst I'm writing there is nothing else running (apart from systray & explorer) and I've got a 7,200rpm HD (defragged) and 512mb ram so I wouldn't expect BU errors anyway.
Is there anything that you can suggest other than getting something newer?
