What is wrong with the new version of Winmx?
The number of search results is absolutely ridiculous, both with a primary and secondary connection to the network. The previous version was much better. Do you have the same experience or am I doing something wrong?

im guessing that winmx 3.1 probably isnt compliant with winmx 2.6 and therfore your limited to people who are using 3.1,

its a bg guess, and i would be surprised if this was the case.

BVV, you seem to be right! maybe if you're behind a firewall you could allow the right ports to let out the UDP and TCP connections requested during the install. I did not, however.
I'll keep on trying the 3.1v for a while...then if all is stuck like this I'll go back to the superb 2.6!

I thought you might be right, so I reinstalled the program and gave it server rights in Zonealarm.This way Winmx can open any port it wants/needs at any time, but this did not help att all. As a test I just searched for 'beatles'. This would normally return somewhere between 1000 and 2000 results (sometimes even more).How many do you think I just got? Exactly 1!!!!! Very strange.

Something else strange happened. My ISP has limited the upload speed to about 15kbps (for all users) to prevent people from running servers.
When I use the 'primary connection' option in Winmx it breaks this barrier. The speed peaks at over 30kbps. It should not be possible, but fortunately it is. At least they did something right in the new version.

WinMX 3.1 works great for me, the way it groups searches and lets you resume files is a lot better than 2.6.

I'm very happy with this one!
