I dumped NERO due to the ASPI problem but WinMe has more, it drives me (more) nuts at times. Check the CD drive settings in Windows.

I disagree on this 1.....:D
WinME+98LitePro+Win 95 shell+gforce 3 TI200+latest gforce drivers+gforce tweak utility+directx 8.1+512 sd ram on an Athlon 800 (my setup :D) can keep up with a WinXp Pentium 4 1800+256 ddr ram+gforce TI4200+directx8.1 (my bud's setup :D)when playing games.....

WinMe is a great os for gaming.....:p

I am posting wrong. Answered a post and screwed up. This was in regard CD drives not being recognized.

Having a HARD time reading. Might be my glassses/eyes or need a monitor screen. I think eyes. LITERALLY!

Who would've thunk it? How did you manage an install of WinME+98LitePro+Win95shell as a single operating system?

Am I understanding that correctly? Your current OS is a combination of parts from the three listed?

It's my gaming partition.......I use win2000 and winXP for other things
WinME is superfast that way:no IE,no outlook,no WMP,ME shell replaced by win95 shell...and system restore remover pro took care of Pchealth,moviemaker and system restore......:D

That's VERY cool roadworker. I can honestly say the ONLY thing I liked about ME was how well it did run my favorite games. Barring that, however, to me ME was the worst OS I ever used (worse than 98).

I'm curious. You simply uninstalled IE, Outlook, and WMP, right? How did you replace ME shell with Win95 shell?

Most of it is done by 98Lite Pro,you just have to place a win95 cd in your cdrom,98Lite will search the cd for the needed files,extract them,and replace your ME shell with them......
Most of the replaced files are stored in a seperate 98Lite directory,so a undo is possible in most cases.......
Since this partition is intended to play games on it,just winrar,DaemonTools,Total Uninstall,gforce tweak utility,Gamejack,Burnatonce,RegHealer and jv16 powertools are on my desktop...for burning or mounting the occasional game and for cleaning up the registry and some uninstalling mess.......it stays in great condition that way...:D

Had bad times with WinME.Always thought it was the B****** child of Win2000 but not as good (or as stable).Tried it 4 a week & got fed up with windows explorer crashing all the time : (Back 2 98 SE 4 Me) : )

Can't disagree with the main man Elpresidente.Greets 2 all.Just wish i could spend more time here, but damn work gets in the way.Peace & screw MicroS***e 4 ever.Some linux distrb are really comun on.If they can just get compatibility with progs, games & so on & so forth: )The worst thing is they actually charged us 4 the priviledge of many crashes & Uttered swear word's.Keep up the great forum work u folks.

A wealth of knowledge & a wry smile ; )
