WinME! I'm freezing!!

Is there some known issue with ME freezing, all the time, and also taking forever to open things? Two different puters, one laptop, one not. Two different sources of the OS. One same problem. Can I get it running better, or do I need to find a big blanket for the freeze out?

Do U have Me updated form windowsupdate?

I never really used ME is it isnt a very good OS, was designed as a testing bed for new ideas that made it into 2k/XP

Also what other progs/appps U have running, are the freezes random or only when u do a certain thing?

Everythings updated, except I don't think I downloaded Japanese. It happens when I try to open or close something. Seems to work better if I have just one thing going at a time. How boring is that? ;)

ME is the worst OS gates ever issued, as it is right-out-of-the-box.
With some serious tweaking it is definitely better than 98 any edition, but still very poor for current jobs- as all 9X stuff it is nothing more than DOS with a silly GUI, it is neither true 32-bit nor true multitasker.
You'd better save some cash and buy either 2000 professionaal or XP Home- both are ages better.

these freezes r somewat native 2 winMe...i've once just installed a fresh installation of winme & then start gettin frequent freezes & bsods :D
better get something else like win2k or winxp or even linux :D:D
